This rare orchid is endemic to adiminishing number of sites in southern Cyprus. The main threat to its survival being habitat loss due to the expansion of tourism. Some of its few strongholds are the areas of land administered by the British Army where albeit unintentionally, it receives full protection from both goats and tourists. |
